A Year in Review

While researching "search engines" and "searching the web", I ran across the following article from Forbes reviewing the top posts, tweets and search terms of 2013 which is located at  http://www.forbes.com/sites/stevecooper/2013/12/31/learning-from-the-top-posts-tweets-and-search-terms-of-2013/.

This article was interesting because it provided a glimpse into how we use social media to share milestones or events in our personal lives, learn about current events and what is important to the masses based on our web habits.

  1. Hi Colleen, nice post. The 10 Best Search Engines for 2014 was very interesting. There were at least 5 in that list I had never heard of, so of course I had to check them all out. I already bookmarked some.

    Thanks :)

  2. We have to be careful when we decide what are "The 10 Best Search Engines for 2014". The web site states "Below is a changing list of user favorites, compiled from reader email suggestions. The sites below are in random order, and are updated regularly to reflect changes and user suggestions.". We all have favorites but this does not mean they are the best. This list appears to be a list of favorites and the site is loaded with ads. I'm not sure there may not be some bias in this list.

    1. I trust by the end of 2014 all the facts and figures will be in to show who is the winner in all categories of being the most used or best search engine used for the year. I don't be the numbers will be bias.
